It was a great success! Here are some highlights of the day!

  • Teachers could learn about different apps for the classrooms. Using them can help students feel involved, playing a more active role in the classrooms, and being able to collaborate with peers. Different and broader learning  spaces  for our students.
  • The teachers in the High School enjoyed a day sharing their experiences in this Erasmus Project which will certainly bring about changes in our daily practice.

Acrosport consists of doing figures with our bodies. We worked in groups of five or six students and we had to prepare a number of movements. It was very fun and entertaining. We enjoyed it so much.

ITALIAN STUDENTS IN TENERIFE

By Ayla, María Álvarez, Adriana Tavío, Elena Martín y María Santana,

The Italian teacher, María Jesús Rodríguez has organized an exchange with Italian people from Firenze.

During their stay in Tenerife we did some excursions together. Each group or class, can choose one of two activities, for example, a visit to The Loro Parque  or a trip to Santa Cruz. Our class chose the Loro Park one.

The activity took place on the 8th May. All the people who went liked it very much. We saw a lot of  beautiful and exotic animals like  crocodiles, lions, penguins, fish parrots…

There were different animal shows and they were amazing! Some of our classmates,  Adriana and María kissed a sea lion!. They were very brave.

The exchange  was great and the Italian people were so amusing and friendly. We had a nice day!

DÉCIMO ANIVERSARIO PROGRAMA CLIL

Let’s celebrate. Enjoy our video!

HOMENAJE A SHAKESPEARE

“It is about Love, Friendship, confusions, and magic potions. Demetrio, Lisandro, Hermia  and Helena are friends. Love, misunderstandings, magic potions… make it a very enjoyable play”

EXCHANGE WITH DENMARK

TENERIFE. November 2015

20160423_144454

By Melany Gutierrez Prieto, Héctor Martín Suárez, Ariadna White, Brígida Siverio, Elizabeth Hurtado Adriana Pérez and  Ana Clara Martinez

María Elena Cabrera and Marta Casariego coordinated the exchange programme. In November, the Danish students travelled to Tenerife.

All the week, different visits were organiZed. So that our guests could know different parts of the island. Some of the places visited were Puerto de la Cruz or the Teide and the museums of Santa Cruz too.

STOVRING.  April 2016

A group of 11 students travelled to Denmark from 31st March to 7th April. They participated in lots of activities done in the Stovring Gymnasium and they also visited museum and other interesting sites.

The two activities  we enjoyed the most were done by the English and Maths teachers. They involved “critical thinking”, and students participating in interesting challenging problem solving tasks. The students read a text  narrating a story that apparently had happened.  Then, we watched a film  about it.  The second activity was a Maths game. The points were given after solving some problems.

Héctor Martín, one of the students told us about the problems they had before reaching Aalborg.

“I went to Denmark with my high school. We enjoyed it so much. But not everything came out as we had planned. We went to the airport at 6.00 o’ clock in the morning because the airplane took off at 7.00, but that day it was so stormy that we couldn’t fly from the Rodeos airport, so we went to the south of the island and finally the plane took off at 8. 15. When we arrived in Barcelona airport, more problems arouse, because we had lost our connection with the other plane and our luggage got lost too.

So, we had to spend this day at the Barcelona airport waiting for the luggage, which finally arrived. Luckily, the plane company paid a very good hotel for us. It was near the airport because the next plane to Copenhagen took off the next morning so early. Although we were very tired we spent a great night in Barcelona. Many of us didn’t sleep much!

In the morning we finally flew to Copenhagen and then to Aalborg.

The students and their families, the school and the place was incredible. Despite the delays this trip has been my dream come true.

LA LAGUNA, Ciudad Patrimonio

Students and teachers from three languages have edited a brochure about La Laguna. It will be used by our visitors to the town. It is in English, Greek and Italian.

LERCARO, History and Anthropology Museum of Tenerife

During the last two school years, we have been involved in the AVITAE project. We have worked with students from different groups in the High School. Both older -bachillerato-, and younger -ESO- students. This year, the group which has been collaborating with the project is mainly formed by students in 4º ESO A and 4º ESO D. They are students who are in the CLIL Programme. Throughout this period, we have also collaborated in international teams.

DSCN3737.JPGWe have visited the Lercaro museum to get the information we needed to carry out our project successfully. We highly recommend visiting The Lercaro Palace, which houses the History and Anthropology Museum of Tenerife. The workshops offered there are really interesting for students. They can learn about our past in an active way.

The 4º ESO CLIL group, together with their teachers MARÍA DOLORES RODRÍGUEZ and CARMEN NIEVES HERNÁNDEZ BRITO, have elaborated two brochures about this museum which you can read here.
https://issuu.com/cherbri/docs/lercaro_brochure

Apart from visiting all the rooms, a wide choice of interesting workshops are also offered to students and visitors. During the international AVITAE meeting that will be held in April, from the 19th to the 26th, we have booked one about traditional costumes.

Students will also have the opportunity to visit all the exhibition rooms and learn about the history of Tenerife from the XV century onwards.

IES Canarias Cabrera Pinto 170 aniversario
